1. Who we are

JEWO Solar (jewosolar.com) is operated by [Legal entity name, e.g. JEWO Trading Ltd], registered in [registered address and country], EU VAT number [VAT number] (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website, unless stated otherwise.

2. What data we collect

We only collect what we need to answer a quote request, process an order, or run this website. That currently includes:

  • Quote form data: full name, email address, phone number (optional), and roof size / usage details you choose to share.
  • Order data (once checkout is live): billing and delivery address, contact details, and order/payment records needed to fulfil and invoice an order. Card and payment details are handled directly by our payment processor, [payment processor name, e.g. Stripe / a card scheme] — we do not store full card numbers ourselves.
  • Support/contact data: anything you send us by email or phone when contacting support or making a warranty claim.
  • Technical data: standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) and, only if you accept optional cookies, analytics data about how you use the site (see our Cookie Policy).

We do not knowingly collect any special category data (health, religion, biometric data, etc.) and ask that you don’t include it in free-text fields such as the quote form.

3. Why we collect it, and our legal basis

  • To answer your quote request and respond to enquiries — legal basis: your consent (checkbox on the form) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries you initiate.
  • To process and fulfil an order, including shipping and VAT invoicing — legal basis: performance of a contract with you, and compliance with our legal (tax/accounting) obligations.
  • To handle warranty claims and returns — legal basis: performance of a contract, and legal obligation under EU consumer law.
  • To run optional analytics — legal basis: your consent, given through the cookie banner. You can withdraw this at any time.
  • To meet accounting, tax and other legal obligations — legal basis: legal obligation.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who need it to run this site and fulfil orders, for example:

  • Our website hosting and email providers.
  • Payment processing: [payment processor name] (once checkout is enabled).
  • Shipping and logistics partners who need your delivery address to ship equipment.
  • Analytics providers, only if you accept optional analytics cookies — see our Cookie Policy for the current list.
  • Tax, accounting or legal advisors, and public authorities, where required by law.

5. How long we keep it

Quote form enquiries that don’t turn into an order are kept for up to [X months, e.g. 12 months] and then deleted. Order and invoice records are kept for as long as required by [country] tax and accounting law (commonly 6–10 years in EU member states — confirm the exact period for your registered country). Warranty records are kept for the length of the applicable warranty plus a reasonable period afterwards to handle any claims.

7. International transfers

Our service providers are chosen to operate within the EU/EEA wherever possible. Where a provider is located outside the EU/EEA, we rely on an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”), where applicable.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
  • Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (such as encrypted connections and access controls on our systems) to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s data

This site is intended for adults purchasing equipment for their homes or businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or legal obligations change. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version.
